The application offers a range of features to enhance your ear training experience. It includes interval exercises, chord exercises, random melody exercises, scale pattern melody exercises, jazz lick melody exercises, and melodic and harmonic note sequences. You can also practice ascending and descending note sequences. The app provides hands-free, continuous play, allowing you to focus solely on your instrument and the notes you're playing.
Play By Ear also offers customization options to tailor the training to your needs. You can calibrate the microphone for optimal performance and adjust the tempo to match your preferred pace. Additionally, you have the ability to show or hide the first note of each exercise. The app supports multiple key centers, including C, Bb, Eb, F, G, and D, ensuring compatibility with various instruments.
Please note that Play By Ear requires a device with a microphone to fully utilize its pitch recognition features. While iPads, iPhones, and the latest iTouch models have built-in microphones, older iTouch devices will require a headset or an external microphone for optimal functionality.
